Did you know that Sea Star Seafood is GFSI-SQF certified?
To support our commitment to food safety and quality, Sea Star Seafood achieved Safe Quality Food certification in August 2010. GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) was founded by a group of international retailer CEOs after discovering the need to enhance food safety, ensure consumer protection, and to strengthen consumer confidence. The GFSI mission is to “provide continuous improvement in food safety management systems to ensure confidence in the delivery of safe food to consumers.”
SQF (Safe Quality Food) is the only certification system recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) that links primary production certification to food manufacturing, distribution and agent/broker management certification.
